Joint Commission Accreditation
We offer a complete package of services for those Behavioral Healthcare organizations who are pursuing either initial Joint Commission Accreditation or to maintain their accreditation previously obtained.
Calming Waters Consulting, LLC will prepare the application, write required policies and procedures manuals specific to your organization, attend the on-site audit, and assist staff to make necessary program changes both before and after accreditation. Each facility determines which services they need, and a package of services are arranged to meet those specific needs.
There are many changes to a licensed facility in order to be accredited as a “Gold Standard” accredited facility. We will walk you through those many changes, providing education to your staff, insights into the process, specific directions on how to implement necessary changes, and providing tools in order to assure a successful outcome.
The Joint Commission began using the SAFER method of tracer methodology in early 2017. We will utilize the same format to guide staff and facility leaders into the transitions of services and to address non-compliance issues. The Elements of Performance required are addressed individually and thoroughly to follow what the day(s) of the actual survey will contain. And throughout the process, we will guide you on how to best display your organization to the Joint Commission surveyor(s) and the excellent services you provide.
During the months leading up to the survey, we will address all areas including environment of care, quality assurance, information technology, health and safety, medical and clinical, and human resources. Regular meetings, as well as monthly Performance Improvement Meetings will be conducted and facilitated by Calming Waters Consulting, LLC. Regular reports will be provided to leadership to monitor where the organization is in the process and to address outstanding areas to focus on. These reports will also assist the facility leaders in prioritizing the areas to work on.
